Minutes of the Meeting
of the Open Spaces Committee of
Henlow Parish Council held on Monday 20th December 2004 at 7.00pm in
Henlow Parish Hall
Present:
Councillors Mrs Cook (Chairman), Cliff, Machin & Warlow.
257. Apologies
– Buckley, Dixon (work commitments), Ward
(illness).
258. Declarations of Interest on any items on
this Agenda. – None.

Clerk’s Report (for information only).
260. Road safety issues – Cllr Warlow.
The committee were provided with the
petition that had been handed to Cllr Warlow. There was further discussion on
the council’s position before it was;
Resolved,
a)
The Council having
received the petition, agreed to support this as it aligns with the Councils
proposals re traffic movements within the parish.
b)
Cllr Warlow to draw
up new petition which will be advertised in the ‘Parish Pump’ in order to widen
audience participation.
c)
The Clerk to write
to Mrs Agiss to thank her for her efforts, and advise that the council will
continue the work.
d)
Clerk to order a sign
for Park Lane previously circulated by Cllr Warlow..
e)
Clerk to write to
BedsCC to ascertain latest development on Pedestrian Crossing near Mill
development.
f)
Clerk to forward
letter to Babtie re speeding on A600 at Henlow Camp.
261. Reports from Councillors on outside
bodies
a) Cllr Buckley – MUGA discussions.
Cllr Buckley had sent a note to say
discussions were ongoing, but as Cllr
Buckley was not present to answer questions this item carried forward to next
meeting.
262. Playground Report.
a)
Report on meeting with Lisa White.
Cllr Dixon had
circulated a report on this meeting with the agenda. After discussion it was;
Resolved Clerk to
order safety surfaces to be provided under large slide & swings, and remove
trip hazard at the Coach Road entrance to the ‘Phygtles’.
