HENLOW PARK BOWLS CLUB

Henlow Park Bowls Club was formed in 1930 for the enjoyment of the game of Lawn Bowls. Henlow village supports a very successful club of all abilities. The Club is affiliated to World Bowls Ltd.  It is run by a committee elected annually by the membership.  We have men's and ladies leagues throughout the season offering competitive bowling in leagues offering a variance of skill and ability. There are weekend ladies and men's matches which are more akin to the social aspect with a friendly competition thrown in.  For the retired amongst us we have regular midweek friendly matches.

Like all sporting clubs we have our own Club competitions which individuals can enter if they so wish. County and International competitions are also available to Club members.

Many organisations, such as the Civil Service, Police, Prison Service, Fire Brigade, British Legion, London Irish have bowls associations which enable members to add to the variety of venues at which to play.

Membership of Henlow Park Bowls Club is available to all; beginners as well as established bowlers. You can even come along to “have a go” and make up your mind later. You do not need any special clothing but we do insist upon flat soled (no heel) shoes which helps to protect the grassed surface.

Membership brings with it the opportunity to make new friends, be active and get plenty of fresh air. You do not need to athletic to play the game. We have members with sore hips, plumber’s knee, plasterer’s shoulder and accountant’s back. None of these annoyances stop them from playing. The game is a relaxing (sometimes), frustrating (sometimes), annoying (sometimes) enjoyable (all times) sport. So come along and see yourself.
